Bars in Lausanne generally close around am while the nightclubs will stay open to am. Most of the nightlife lives around Le Flon, the industrial area that surrounds the Flon metro station.
Rue de Geneve is spilling with clubs. The D! Le Loft 1 Escaliers Bel-Air right on the steps of Bel-Air off of Rue de Geneve is often packed and you will often see lines out the door in addition to tipsy guys relieving themselves on the side of the steps.
The crowd can be a little rough, as evidenced by the requisite pat-down to get inside. However, once you get inside the dancing can get interesting. It is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, like to recover from the wild and crazy gay nights on Sunday. Entry is usually about 20SFr.
Note: Ladies venturing into the nightclub scene alone should avoid walking to much past the MAD club, as the further end of Rue de Geneve is an area populated by prostitutes at night.
The pizzeria "Le Chateau" is the only place serving food in the middle of the night. If you're looking for more alternative scenes, head to the beginning of Avenue de France. You'll find nice bars and "The Oblo", an alternative cinema with an interesting selection of movies. Tip: All of your saved places can be found here in My Trips.
